JUNE 18 2007

June 18th Update:

- FOUR NEW ITEMS -

Item Number One:

Comics With Problems #17
with bonus condom gallery

1956/1962 Planned Parenthood comic on Birth Control. Features a women so terrified at the thought of having a fourth baby she won't even let her husband KISS her. The husband gets so starved for sex he can't concentrate and jams his hand into heavy machinery at the plant!

Also features one of my favorite comic panels seen in some time, shown above.

This is a great, and I mean GREAT old comic book. I won't spoil much more of it, except to say you're going to have a lot of fun reading this and ALSO that it is amazing attitudes towards contraception were so tense and stigmatized back as recently as 1962. And this is a comic featuring an ADULT MARRIED COUPLE. Already with three kids, no less! One has to really respect Planned Parenthood for producing a comic this cool back then. We also offer a truly confusing and strange alternate Malaysian version, from Singapore. CLICK TO READ

Also - as stated above, we have a bonus condom gallery showcasing some unexpectedly attractive condom design art from the 30s/40s - CLICK TO VIEW -

Item Number Two:

A LARGELY EXPANDED MUSIC PAGE
with tons of artwork
and newly posted mp3s

forty minutes forty memories [horse #001]

including the complete "forty minutes forty memories" album from 1999.

Big news, to a few of you anyway, is we've finally gotten around to expanding the main music page on the site. Now contains images of all the limited pressings we've produced from 1993-present. There's some good art here. You'll enjoy the fold-out stage for SPREE, the Lorne Greene disc for 25 Lessons, and be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page for a link to download the entire "forty minutes forty memories" album, long coveted by a couple of you irritating music connoisseurs, from 1999. And, a good surprise: there are two posted mp3s from 1993 and 1994 Chicago - including our first recorded piece, DO YOU HEAR THE FROG?.
