New for Tuesday July 8, 2008

New music added

8-second piece:

"Dinger" (loop)
cc.2008, Ethan Persoff

http://www.ep.tc/ ++++ http://www.ep.tc/music/

"DINGER" is a new eight second piece of looping music from us to you, intended to repeat perpetually as a background sound, or to be played with directly as a toy with other mixing equipment. Main ingredients include voices, machinery, melody, and a bell. You can add anything to it you'd like, or just download the Aif file and play in Quicktime on loop. Stereo or headphone set-up preferred.

DOWNLOAD THE DINGER LOOP
(zip file with hires Aif file and mp3 example)

"DINGER" will be part of another free website soon with an offer to remix with your own sounds. Slow it down or speed it up, we personally find Dinger to be a very flexible and fun toy. It certainly fills up a room, too. For sound tinkerers, there is a lot of EQ opportunity and space for your own decals and paint. Go nuts. It can get very loud.

Released here as a digital eight second single, this is Horse #007.

To add to the summer music, we've also restored DISNEYLAND as a downloadable mp3. Enjoy a high resolution file by clicking here.

Thanks and Ding - Ethan

ELSEWHERE ON THE WEB:

EARLY HISTORY OF THE REALIST COVERED IN ASHEVILLE'S MOUNTAIN XPRESS

New This Month: Jon Elliston provides a great piece of writing and research on a very dark event that directly includes early staff from The Realist. Contains a surprising amount of never-seen documents, all available for pdf download. First of a four-part series.

I won't spoil what this is about, but the opening lead is quite gripping.

Read parts one and two. Enjoy this wealth of supplemental items. See also this list of articles found in the Realist archive.

Finally, a late reply, Thanks to George Carlin:
