A READER DISAGREES
I'm going to disagree with you. This comic is completely about hepatitis. READ THE SYMBOLS AND NOT THE WORDS. Bobby's loose and chatty lifestyle points to a grim future with all the wrong kind of people. Phone cords represent a mixture of promiscuous anxiety and confusion to dream analysts. Further, the scene with the fire is pure symbolism for sexually transmitted disease.
Further, I indicate panels 2 and 3 from page 5 which prove beyond any reasonable doubt that this young child is a drug user and sexually 'easy' (note bisexual body language on lazy boy, and eye dilation)
And I notice heroin needle tracks on the palm of his hand in this same panel!

I'm going to side with Mary Bell. Also, by the look of the mom's mouth on panel two of the back cover this family might be dealing with more than just one contagious STD outbreak. Bobby's Ma Got Herp?

Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny that you focus on the silly title. But phone lines used to be serious problems of their own! I'm 62 so I can speak from some experience.

YES, WHAT'S IT REALLY ALL ABOUT?
