A friend of mine brought one of these home from the Army way back when. He said it didn't actually help with the training because it was so lunatic. We all thought of it as being on the pathetic side of funny. The military was a sexist institution then and so remains. I suppose it's better than a computer game.

I served in the USMC in Vietnam in 1969. The M-16A1 will work well if kept extremely clean (which is impossible in a war situation). On the other hand with the AK47 it is a very effective weapon for war. You can take an AK-47 out of the rice pattie mud and it will fire.
I was constantly cleaning my M-16 and taking care not get in the mud, water and dirt. I knew it would let you down.

there's really nothing to say on this one. it already exploits plenty of innuendo itself, and there's so much legitimate material about lubing and shoving things in and out that it isn't even fun.

Neat little booklet. But wasn't the "original" M16 (M16A0) the model that gave the weapon such a bad reputation? The M16A1 was an improved model that saw action later in the war.
The original AR15 was supposedly rather reliable in comparison to the M16A0.
