Wow. I was thinking about how dumb the token minorities look, and then one of them had to break out the line "I am Indian! I don't want to play Indian!" Seriously, though, most of the characters wind up looking pretty wonky. And wow, who doesn't love a random elephant who flies throw the window to play doctor with kids? I love children's safety comics with setups like that. (There were some similar Boy Scot ones posted.) I bet the issues about talking to strangers are fun!

"Other similar episodes occurred and that's how I learned about safety. Now I am a magic elephant flying around keeping kids safe!"

That's one hell of a plot hole.

It's simple, TK: Pip drank a poison that gave him magic powers. It also made him sick for a bit but, hey, magic powers! And now he doesn't want kids to have fun like that.

Geez, the art sucks in this one. Gotta love the plot holes, too.

I love how Pip seems to be pouring himself a cocktail with the paint thinner. And the fact that the babysitter is totally clueless. And SERIOUSLY - what kids have conversations like "oh I found this thing under the counter, wanna taste it?" D'OH!

Furthermore, you gotta love the "I can't read" comment... if this book is aimed at kids who can't read, what's the point of having Pip "read it to them" if it's still WRITTEN IN TEXT?

Um... why does the Indian girl mysteriously change skin tone on the last page?

And where the hell did Pip get his magic from?

...stupid comic.

I agree with Warboss, why does the, as she proclaims herself, Indian magically change skintones in the last panel?

"I am Indian. I don't want to play Indian."

She needs to stop being a little bitch and clarify herself, because I don't know if she means actually Indian, as she is rather dark, or Native-American.
So maybe she didn't even need to cop an attitude with Ralph in the first place, and this whole Pip situation could have been avoided.

Isn't it interesting that Pip doesn't get to the black family until after the kid gets sick...

I enjoyed Pip's halfassed excuse for not actually helping the black people in a timely manner. "Oh, shit, sorry, I was, uh, saving a guy, from, lessee, a lawn mower. Yeah, that's it."
