COMICS WITH PROBLEMS #47- Supplement Item: "Selling GRIT in 1959 and in 1977"
Bit of a fun item here. We were compiling comics related to newspapers for Issue #47 when we picked up what we was assumed to be two issues of the same comic (normally it's a good practice to acquire a copy to scan and another to preserve untouched) A funny surprse when a copy of YOU'VE GOT TO HAVE GRIT arrived with 1959 artwork, and then another arrived with 1977 artwork. And even more amusing when you overlay the two and compare them. So that's what we've decided to do here. You gotta have Grit!

Notes: A "good friend" in panel three is re-written to be a "valued and trusted friend". A "neat" picture changed from a "swell" picture. The boys are still planning a camping trip, but the cost has risen from $20 to $30. 1955 Sweet Shop sign offers Jumbo Sundae for 35¢ and Special "scribbles" for 40¢.
Jokes: Ticket counter woman in panel two considerably less happy with her job in 1977.
