BICYCLE SAFETY (2012)
A complete set of six comics intended for 4th to 8th grade public school students in Phoenix, AZ. Funded by a grant from the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety. Proposed for distribution in public schools, Fall 2012.

CAPTAIN SUPER SAFE: HELMETS PROTECT THE BRAIN! (2003)
Five page snippet of a comic that demonstrates skulls are hard and brains are soft! Introduces Captain Super Safe. Produced by the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, 2003.


PROBLEM(s) DEALT WITH:

Loss of helmets on playgrounds, (voyeurism of caped avengers), Skulls, Brains, Dogs, Head crashing down on pavement as bike is flipped in air, Laying on the pavement bleeding, loss of skull to expose brain to friends, Crashing through panes of glass, Drawing with CAD, Bicycle tuning, Crashing through a truck, Breaking arm in half with bone cutting through skin and wrist dangling motionlessly, Bloodied knees, Smashing face into a suddenly opened parked car door, Playing horrible sounding rock music, Smashing face first into car door (again), Impaling abdomen with metal from bicycle handlebars, Gaping rifle shot sized hole in abdomen, Broken fingers (all digits twisted in different directions), Soccer, Tire inflation, Wheelies, Smashing into delivery truck, Thrown under truck and having legs cracked and flattened as it bumps over you, Importance of wearing gloves, Running a red light, Being smashed by oncoming car and flipped into air with a loud sound effect, Landing with both legs broken and twisted so horrible knees now bend upwards, Laying on ground with mangled shins and bloodied nose, Building a robot, Running a stop sign, Smashed so hard by a car you are thrown into air where your spine is severed by a metal sign, Landing on the ground and snapping back your neck and twisting your face into the pavement, and Death.

I was really hoping that giant robot Brett and Kenny built would come into play. Maybe Brett uses it to notify Marvin's family of his death?

...Am I the only one who wonders where in the fuck Captain Super Safe got that fresh-looking skull and brain?   
   
Does he takes fresh brains and skulls everywhere to show kids how soft their gray matter is? That sounds like a bigger problem than not wearing safety gear. Those kids are gonna remember that day as "the day some guy wearing a tacky yellow licra jumpsuit and black spandex underwear made us touch some dead guy's remains".
